Tipping Floor Guidelines

Enter the facility using specified lanes.
Stop at the scale house for further instructions.
Follow traffic signs and watch for traffic controllers and spotters.
Provide enough space between vehicles.
Keep close to your vehicle while unloading materials.
Children, pets, and other passengers must stay in your vehicle at all times.
Be aware of transfer station vehicles and equipment (keep eye contact with loader operators).
Smoking is not permitted at the facility.

Accepted:
	Municipal Solid Waste (Trash, garbage, the stuff that goes in the gray cart or bin.)
	Construction and Demolition Debris (Eg: drywall, pipes, plastic, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, conduit.)

Accepted:
	Asphalt Roofing - Shingles or Rolls (If it's a pre-1970s roof-WOW! You got your money's worth! It may contain asbestos - that's hazardous waste and a no no. We can't accept it and it requires special handling.)

Accepted:
	Dirt/Sod (Did you know? All the cool kids are planting drought tolerant landscaping.)

Accepted:
	Concrete/Asphalt/Brick/Rock (The road less traveled ends up in pieces at the public transfer station.)
	Appliances, Bulky Items, & Mattresses (Eg: water heaters, refrigerators, mattresses/box springs, sofas, washers, dryers, and other large appliances.) Residents can bring up to 5 mattresses a day for no charge. Non-residents must pay a fee. See the rates page.
	Carpet (All carpet types and padding; including wall-to-wall, area rugs, outdoor, and magic flying. Carpet is recovered and recycled in the State of California through the CARE Program.)
	Food Scraps/Food-Soiled Paper (The ultimate food fight ends up being compost!)
	Yard Trimmings/Grass Clippings/Leaves/Trees/Branches (If you cut down the cherry tree, don't lie about it, bring it to the public transfer station.)
	Clean Lumber (Painted and stained OK. PLEASE NOTE: pressured-treated lumber and other treated wood waste (ex. from fencing or decking) is NOT ACCEPTED at the public transfer facility. Loads that may contain treated wood will be rejected. These materials have been considered hazardous waste in California since 2021.)

Accepted:
	Inert Material (Eg: any material that doesn't cause or promote any change in the environment. Change can be good - just not when it concerns material deposited at the public transfer station.)
	Tires (The wheels on the bus go round and round...and the tires end up with us!)

Not Accepted:
	Batteries (Any type or size, but you can drop off household and automotive batteries at the public recycling center.)
	Sealed Containers (What is lurking in there? We don't want to find out.)
	Animal Waste (Everybody poops - just not at the public transfer station.)
	Animal Carcasses (Including both prehistoric and modern.)
	Medical Waste (We are NOT medical professionals and we do NOT play doctors on TV.)
	Radioactive or Reactive Materials (We prefer to be proactive...not reactive.)
	Toxic Materials (We avoid toxic relationships too.)
	Hot Ashes or Coals (Hot! Ouchy No No! Fire!)
	Oils and Solvents (We have enough to make our world go round.)
	Liquid Wastes and Sludge (No mutagenic goo either.)
	Any Type of Hazardous Waste (some HHW is accepted at the Public Recycling Center)

Not Accepted:
	Treated Wood Waste (TWW) (PLEASE NOTE: pressure-treated lumber and other treated wood waste (ex. from fencing and decking) is NOT ACCEPTED at the public transfer facility. Loads that may contain treated wood will be rejected. TWW has been considered hazardous waste in California since 2021.) *
