SOUTH BAYSIDE INDUSTRIES is a division of Alameda County Industries and was unanimously selected by the South Bayside Waste Management Authority (SBWMA) Board of Directors to manage and operate the Shoreway Environmental Center starting January 1, 2024.
THE SHOREWAY ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER is owned by RethinkWaste, a joint powers authority with eleven member agencies (the cities of Belmont, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Foster City, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, San Mateo, the town of Hillsborough, the County of San Mateo and the West Bay Sanitary District). Materials are collected from the member agencies and brought to the Shoreway Environmental Center where they are consolidated and transferred to either permitted landfills or processing facilities for further separation and marketing.
THE SHOREWAY TRANSFER STATION is open to the public and is available to residents, businesses, and contractors for drop off of garbage, yard trimmings, organics, recyclable construction and demolition debris, and recyclable materials.
